The Torquay Boys' Grammar School Observatory

Located in the grounds of Torquay Boys' Grammar School, the 'Torbay Observatory' houses a 19.2" (0.5m) Newtonian Reflector. The building also incorporates an annex in which dark-room, computing and storage facilities are available.

Since it was opened (in 1989) by Heather Couper, the observatory has been in regular use by the school itself (for the teaching of Astronomy); by members of the Torbay Astronomical Society; for observational evenings by visiting scout, guide and other groups and on the monthly Public Open Evenings (see the TAS Programme).

This photograph was taken at the observing meeting on the evening of Thursday Apil 12th, 2012.
